Hascovir pro for cold sores, 50 mg/g, krem, 5 g
Hascovir is used for the topical treatment of cold sores (herpes labialis) and herpes-related lesions on the face.
Composition
1 g of cream contains:
- Active substance: 50 mg acyclovir
- Other ingredients: propylene glycol, poloxamer 407, cetostearyl alcohol, sodium lauryl sulfate, light liquid paraffin, white petrolatum, purified water.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. If unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
This medicine is intended for topical use on the skin.
Apply a small amount of cream to the cold sores and surrounding areas 5 times a day (every 4 hours). Treatment should ideally begin at the first signs of infection (itching, burning, or tingling). Using the cream promptly during a recurrence can prevent the full development of the infection.
To prevent the spread of infection, wash your hands before and after applying the cream.
Treatment should last for 5 days. If symptoms persist, treatment can be extended for another 5 days. If symptoms do not improve after 10 days, consult a doctor.
Mechanism of Action
Acyclovir has potent antiviral activity against the herpes simplex virus (Herpes simplex).
Contraindications
Do not use Hascovir if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
